The Lost Paradise of The Iu Mien People

What is BAONG?

Pronounced: Buh-Ong / Spelled in Mien: Mba'ong; Mbuo'ong. Ong means "grandpa" in Mien and combined BAONG means thunder god.

Hello and welcome!

My name is Michael Saelee and I'm the co-founder of BAONG.

On behalf of myself and the entire BAONG team we want you to know how excited we are to have you on this journey with us.

We will be sharing more plans as we move forward into the year.

In the meantime, what you can expect from us...

BAONG is all about creating a modern Mien community. At the center, BAONG aims to promote Mien identity, give back, and elevate Iu Mien communities through entrepreneurship by creating new jobs, opportunities, and advancement.

We created this short video to introduce the Lost Paradise of our people and how it led to the creation of BAONG. Please excuse errors since we filmed this in one-shot.

Cheers,

Michael

I’m very proud of you and your team for taking the initiative to educate more of your generation and younger generation who they are and where they came from. Knowing who you are and where you stand in our community is very important for our Iu-Mien. We can grow further by understanding our value, culture and identity. Let’s be the leader and recruit more of younger generations to join the teams to move forward.

This warms my heart to hear that they so many way our upcoming YOUNGER GENERATION is so PASSIONATE to bring our lost culture, traditions and heritage to the light . I thank you again as this will help the younger people and people that don’t know we are IU MIEN .
